Time REALLY flies...

Well, I can't believe it has been over a month since I posted the initial blog here. (Those of you that really know me can believe it, but nevertheless, I'm excited to post again.) So many things have happened in such a short period of time....

FIRST, Joanna (the awesome sister) and I painted the nursery. It was supposed to turn out as a light brown, but I was too chicken to really buy any excited colors, so it basically just looks like the cleanest room in the house. There is a picture below, but because Bethany sealed us in the room :) and it was 104 degrees outside with 85% humidity, the camera fogged up each time we tried to take the picture. Don't worry, Bethany let us come out every once in a while, how else would we have been able to install the new dishwasher or the new microwave?!?! :) GOOD TIMES....

NEXT, we went to visit our very good friends Natalie and Matt Boening. At the time, Natalie was 9 months pregnant with their little baby girl, Alison. John (Mays) and I were pulling for her to have the baby while we were there (I could have boiled the water!), but we were a week early on that little adventure. Thankfully beautiful little Alison was born on Thursday, July 27, 2006. Both baby and mom are doing great. Congrats to Matt and Natalie!

THEN, it was around the end of July that I felt our little girl move for the first time. WOW that was COOL. Just little thump, thumps on the belly (which have now grown MUCH stronger). Now, if you are watching at just the right time, you can even see the stomach POP up where the little kicks are!

YESTERDAY, Bethany graduated from Texas A & M Commerce with her Masters in Secondary Education!! I am so proud of her and her accomplishments. Not only did she work through the difficult program, she did all but 9 hours of it over the last year while teaching 50 private students per week, AND preparing for our little girl. WAY TO GO BETHANY; I LOVE YOU!!!! Mom and baby looked very beautiful in the cap and gown!

That brings us to TODAY, Bethany and I attended our last Prepared Childbirth course today--I know there's a joke in there somewhere. I really enjoyed the class. I learned so much and the process is awe-inspiring (a tad bit on the gross side), but awe-inspiring nonetheless. We are just about two and a half months away from a life-changing event that I cannot begin to comprehend, but every day I get more and more excited.

NOW all we need is a name, but that is a rant for another day. In general, I am accustomed to children arriving at my doorstep WITH names, so needless to say, I'm having a difficult time with this one....But all that matters is that Bethany looks better than ever and in this shirt, you can't see how much weight I've gained.

Good job with the blog, Jeff!

I'm with Crystal on the pictures - they're fun to have, especially so since we get to see each other so seldom.

Bethany -- you look great! Congratulations again on the new degree.

You three are in our prayers all the time.
